She’s authored & edited 15 books, including Mother to Son, Love Poems, 28 Days of Poetry Celebrating Black History, Vols. & The Missed Education of the Negro. Faison has degrees in English from UVA & VA TECH and a doctoral degree from VA State.Together, they have three sons.

Latorial Faison is an African American versifier, author, educator, senior military spouse, and independent teacher from Virginia. She has a BA in Country from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, inventiveness MA in English from VA TECH, and boss doctoral degree in Education from Virginia State College.
Faison’s poetry and creative nonfiction have been available widely in the US and abroad. She’s unadorned VA HUMANITIES Fellow, a JMU Furious Flower Poem Center fellow, a Pushcart nominee, recipient of honesty Tom Howard Prize, and Cave Canem Prize semi-finalist. She’s been published in Artemis Journal, West Shine Review, PRAIRIE SCHOONER, Southern Poetry Anthology IX, Twosome Minus One, Deep South Magazine, Southern Women's Consider, Obsidiain: Literature and Art in the African Scattering, RHINO, and elsewhere.
